Front Setup

WorkSights connects to Front using OAuth 2.0. Once connected, Front delivers conversation activity to WorkSights in real time via webhooks for all mapped teammates. Setup takes a few minutes and requires an active Front account with access to at least one shared inbox.

For an overview of how Front activity appears in WorkSights, see Front Integration Overview.

Step-by-Step Setup Instructions

Step 1: Start the Connection

  1. Go to Settings → Services
  2. Find Front in the list
  3. Click Connect

Step 2: Authorize WorkSights in Front

WorkSights redirects you to Front’s authorization screen. Here you can select which workplaces to grant access to. All Workspaces is selected by default and is recommended for most teams. If your company uses multiple Front workspaces and you only want activity from specific ones to appear in WorkSights, uncheck the workspaces you want to exclude before authorizing.

Review the requested permissions and click Authorize to grant access.

Once you authorize, WorkSights completes setup automatically: your access token is stored, and your Front company is identified and linked to the connection. You are returned to WorkSights and will see the newly created Front connection.

The connection is company-scoped. Any teammate in your Front company whose email matches a WorkSights user will have their activity attributed automatically.

Step 3: Sync Teammates

Open the Users tab on the Front integration page and confirm your team members are mapped to WorkSights users. WorkSights matches Front teammates to WorkSights users by email address.

If a teammate did not map automatically, select the correct WorkSights user from the dropdown to complete the mapping manually. Only mapped teammates will have their activity attributes on the timeline.

Triggering user ingestion as soon as the connection is established is recommended. Events that arrive before a teammate is mapped are attributed to the conversation’s assignee where possible, but mapping your team early avoids any gaps.

What Happens Next

Once the connection is established and teammates are mapped, WorkSights begins receiving Front events in real time. Activity starts appearing on the timeline as your team works in Front.

There is no backfill of historical conversations. Only activity that occurs after the connection is established will appear in WorkSights. If a conversation has no mapped assignee, it will not generate timeline activity.

User mappings can be reviewed and updated at any time from the Front integration page.
