HubSpot Engagement

HubSpot Engagement covers the four core interaction types that can be logged on any CRM record: emails, calls, notes, and tasks. When a mapped user creates an engagement in HubSpot, WorkSights receives it and displays it on the timeline in sequence with other activity, giving teams a complete view of the work happening in HubSpot.

What WorkSights Receives

  • Emails: logged emails sent or received through HubSpot
  • Calls: inbound or outbound calls logged on a record
  • Notes: internal notes on any CRM object
  • Tasks: tasks created in HubSpot or assigned to a user
  • Meetings: scheduled or completed meetings logged on a CRM record, including start and end times, location, and meeting notes where provided by HubSpot

Each engagement event includes the subject or title, the associated contact, company, deal, or ticket, and the timestamp. Email or note content is included when HubSpot provides it.

How Engagement Appears

All engagement types appear on the timeline using HubSpot's purple color. WorkSights maps each engagement type to the corresponding WorkSights activity category. Emails map to Email, calls to Call, meetings to Meeting, tasks to Task, and notes to General. Example entries include:

  • Created HubSpot Email: [Name]
  • Created HubSpot Task: Example Deal 2109
  • Created HubSpot note on Example Deal 2109
  • Created HubSpot call outbound: Call with [Name]
  • Created HubSpot meeting: Meeting regarding Example Deal 2109

When multiple engagements are created at the same moment, WorkSights groups them into a single entry.

Data Notes

WorkSights displays only the engagement details HubSpot sends through its API. Email bodies are included only when HubSpot provides them, which depends on the email type and HubSpot's privacy model. When email body content is not available, WorkSights displays all other supplied metadata.

Attachments may appear as IDs only, as HubSpot provides attachment identifiers but not always file previews or direct download links.

All engagement data follows HubSpot's permission model. WorkSights cannot display engagements the authenticated HubSpot user cannot access.
