Basecamp Comments

Comments in Basecamp support discussions across messages, to-dos, files, and other project elements. WorkSights reflects comment activity by receiving metadata signals that indicate where collaboration is taking place.

What WorkSights Receives

WorkSights receives metadata for:

• New comments
• Updates to existing comments

Basecamp transmits context such as the project, parent object, and timestamps. Comment bodies are not included in the payload.

How Comments Appear in WorkSights

WorkSights displays comments as standalone activity entries linked to the relevant Basecamp item. The hierarchy shown depends on the parent object:

Project → Object Type → Object Name

Each comment event identifies:

• The object it belongs to (message, to-do, file)
• The activity type (comment created or comment updated)
• The mapped user who performed it

Comments use WorkSights's discussion/comment colored icon to keep collaboration signals distinct.

Data Details

Basecamp provides metadata for comments but does not include comment text in its API payloads.

WorkSights reflects comment activity only for mapped users and only for events occurring after the integration is connected.

Timing aligns with Basecamp's webhook delivery and WorkSights's processing schedule.
