Basecamp To-Dos
Basecamp to-dos represent the core task activity inside Basecamp projects. WorkSights reflects this activity by capturing metadata about list creation, individual to-do creation, updates, and completions, giving teams visibility into everyday task execution without exposing task content.
For connection steps, see Basecamp Setup.
What WorkSights Receives
WorkSights receives metadata for:
- To-do list creation
- Individual to-do creation
- Updates to to-dos such as title changes, due dates, and assignments
- To-do completions
Basecamp's webhook payloads include the project name, list name, to-do title, and timestamps. To-do descriptions and assignment notes are not included.
How To-Dos Appear
WorkSights displays to-do activity using the Basecamp object path: Project → To-do List → To-do Title.
Creating a list appears as a Todolist Created entry. Creating a to-do appears as a Todo Created entry. Updates appear as Title Changed or similar. Completing a to-do appears as a Todo Completed event and uses WorkSights's task-style icon for quick recognition..
Data Notes
To-do descriptions, assignment notes, and comment text are never received. Activity appears only for mapped users and only for events that occur after the integration is connected. Timing depends on Basecamp's webhook delivery and WorkSights's processing window.
Troubleshooting
If Basecamp to-do activity is not appearing as expected:
- Confirm the affected user is mapped in the Users tab.
- Verify the activity occurred after the connection was established.
- If activity is delayed, allow time for both the webhook delivery and WorkSights processing steps to complete.
- For persistent issues, contact support via the in-app chat.
