Zoom Integration Overview

The Zoom integration gives WorkSights visibility into meetings, calls, and webinars for each mapped user. Once connected at the account level, WorkSights receives activity from Zoom Meetings, Zoom Phone, and Zoom Webinars automatically.

Zoom shares activity data only when the connected user is the host of a meeting or webinar, or the caller or callee on a phone call. This is a Zoom API constraint, not a WorkSights limitation. For meetings where the user is a participant rather than the host, WorkSights shows the calendar event but not the deeper Zoom session data.

For connection steps, see Zoom Setup.

Zoom Services in WorkSights

Meetings

Hosted Zoom meetings appear in bright blue on the timeline, consistent with Teams and Google Meet. WorkSights displays the meeting title, start and end time, and duration.

Attendee identities are not available. Zoom does not share participant lists with third-party applications.

Zoom Phone

WorkSights displays inbound and outbound Zoom Phone calls for mapped users. Each call shows the direction, caller ID name when available, start and end time, duration, and device metadata. Unlike meetings, call visibility is straightforward: if the user was the caller or callee, the call appears.

Webinars

Hosted webinars appear on the timeline with the session title, start and end time, and duration. Attendee lists, engagement metrics, and any webinar content are not shared by Zoom.

Integration Page Overview

The Zoom integration page contains four tabs:

  • Overview: connection details and integration owner
  • Users: Zoom accounts mapped automatically by email
  • Features: visibility controls for Meetings, Phone, and Webinars
  • Connections: connected Zoom accounts

Data Notes

WorkSights receives metadata only across all three Zoom services. Audio, video, recordings, transcripts, chat content, and attendee identities are never received or stored. All data follows Zoom's API permission model. WorkSights cannot access data from meetings or webinars where the connected user is not the host.

Troubleshooting

If Zoom activity is not appearing as expected:

  • Confirm the affected user is mapped and that their Zoom and WorkSights email addresses match.
  • For meetings and webinars, confirm the user was the host. Participant-only sessions do not appear.
  • For Zoom Phone, confirm the user has an active Zoom Phone subscription.
  • If Zoom blocks the connection, a Zoom admin may need to pre-approve the WorkSights app in the Zoom Marketplace.
  • For persistent issues, contact support via the in-app chat.
