Figma Setup

WorkSights connects to Figma using OAuth 2.0. Unlike most WorkSights integrations, each person connects their own Figma account individually — any account member can do this, not just an admin.

For an overview of how Figma activity appears in WorkSights, see Figma Integration Overview.

Connecting Figma

Step 1: Find Your Figma Team URL

Before authorizing, you'll need the URL of your Figma team — Figma's API doesn't let WorkSights look this up automatically. Copy the URL from your browser while viewing your team in Figma; it looks like figma.com/files/team/<id>/....

Step 2: Start the Connection

  1. Go to Services in the top navigation
  2. Find Figma in the list and click Connect
  3. Paste your team URL into the connect form

Step 3: Authorize WorkSights in Figma

You'll be redirected to Figma to approve the connection. WorkSights requests read-only access to your identity, file metadata, file versions, and comments, plus the ability to register a webhook for your team. WorkSights never requests access to the actual contents of your design files.

Connecting your own Figma account doesn't affect any other app you've already connected to Figma — Figma allows only one active connection per app per person, and reconnecting simply refreshes that one.

Step 4: Team Setup

The first person to connect for a given team needs to be a Figma team admin, since registering the team's activity feed requires admin-level access on Figma's side. If you're not an admin, your connection will wait until a team admin has connected — you don't need to do anything differently, it resolves automatically once they do.

Your Figma team must be on a paid plan. Figma's free (Starter) plan doesn't support the webhooks this integration needs.

If your organization uses more than one Figma team, you can add additional teams to your connection by pasting another team's URL — you don't need a separate connection per team.

What Happens Next

Once connected, WorkSights begins bringing your Figma file edits, named versions, comments, library publishes, and dev-handoff status onto the timeline. Figma is rolling out gradually to workspaces, so your team may not be enabled yet — if your connection doesn't complete, contact us via in-app chat to check your status.

Connection settings can be reviewed and updated at any time from the integration page.
