Deel Setup
WorkSights connects to Deel using OAuth 2.0. Setup takes a few minutes and requires admin access to your Deel organization.
For an overview of how Deel data appears in WorkSights, see Deel Integration Overview.
Connecting Deel
Step 1: Start the Connection
- Go to Services in the top navigation
- Find Deel in the list
- Click Connect Deel
Only Admins, Executives, and Owners in WorkSights can initiate this connection.
Step 2: Authorize WorkSights in Deel
You'll be redirected to Deel to authorize the connection. Connect using an Organization-level Deel app, not a Personal app. A Personal app only grants access to the authorizing employee's own data, not your whole company — if you're offered a choice during authorization, choose Organization.
WorkSights requests read-only access to your people roster, job titles, reporting lines, and time-off and work-schedule records, plus the ability to register a webhook for near-real-time updates. WorkSights never requests access to payroll, payslips, compensation, bank details, tax information, or any other financial or compliance data.
Step 3: Review People Matching
WorkSights imports your Deel roster and matches people to WorkSights users by work email. Open the Users tab to review matches. People with no resolvable work email, or who aren't currently employed in Deel, won't appear here.
Step 4: Review HR Data Suggestions
Open the HR data tab to see what Deel's job titles and reporting lines suggest changing compared to what's currently on file in WorkSights. By default, nothing is applied automatically — review each suggestion and use Apply or Dismiss on a per-person basis.
If you'd rather have title or reporting-line changes update automatically going forward, turn on the corresponding auto-apply toggle on the HR data tab. Titles and reporting lines each have their own toggle, so you can automate one without the other.
What Happens Next
Once connected, WorkSights begins reading your Deel roster, job titles, reporting lines, and time off on an hourly cycle.
Approved time off starts reflecting in people's WorkSights schedules automatically — no toggle needed for this. Job title and reporting-line changes sit as suggestions on the HR data tab unless you've turned on auto-apply for that data type.
Deel produces no activity on the WorkSights timeline. Its effect is limited to the HR data tab and the knock-on effect of an applied leave day on a person's existing schedule.
User matches and HR data settings can be reviewed and updated at any time from the Deel integration page.
