Figma Integration Overview

Figma is a newly launched integration and is currently being rolled out to workspaces gradually. If you try to connect and it doesn't complete, your workspace may not be enabled yet — contact us via in-app chat and we'll let you know when it's available to you.

Figma is where design work happens. Connecting it puts file edits, named versions, comments, library publishes, and dev-handoff status on the WorkSights timeline alongside the rest of the day — read-only, with file contents never read and nothing ever written back to Figma.

Unlike most WorkSights integrations, each person connects their own Figma account rather than one admin connecting on behalf of the whole team.

For connection steps, see Figma Setup.

What WorkSights Receives

File activity

WorkSights receives file metadata — who last touched a file, and when — for files in your team's folders. File contents are never read.

Named versions

Named versions saved on a file are captured.

Comments

Comments on a file, including from people outside your team, are captured with their text and author.

Library publishes and dev-handoff status

Library publish events and dev-handoff status changes appear as activity, giving visibility into design work beyond just file edits.

How Figma Activity Appears

Figma activity appears on the timeline attributed to whoever made the change, giving leaders visibility into design work alongside engineering, sales, and communication activity from your other connected tools.

Integration Page Overview

The Figma integration page contains:

  • Overview - Connection details and integration owner
  • Users - Figma accounts mapped to WorkSights users
  • Connections - Connected Figma accounts and teams

Data Notes

WorkSights connects to Figma using OAuth 2.0. The integration is read-only: WorkSights never creates, edits, or deletes anything in Figma, and never reads the actual contents of a design file — only metadata about who touched what, and when.

Figma only reports activity on files inside your team's folders. Files in invite-only folders outside a team structure are never visible to WorkSights.

Troubleshooting

I can't complete the connection

Figma is rolling out gradually. If your workspace isn't enabled yet, the connection won't complete — contact us via in-app chat to check your workspace's status.

My team is on Figma's free plan and nothing is appearing

Figma's free (Starter) plan doesn't support the webhooks this integration depends on. A paid Figma plan is required for activity to flow.

No one has connected yet and nothing is showing for my team

A Figma team admin needs to be the one to complete the first connection for that team. Until then, other members' connections wait for that to happen.

A file in a shared folder isn't showing activity

Figma only reports activity on files inside team folders. Files in invite-only folders outside that structure aren't visible to WorkSights.
