Basecamp messages support structured communication within projects. WorkSights displays message activity by receiving metadata about message creation, updates, and related comments. This keeps teams aware of communication events without exposing message content.
What WorkSights Receives
WorkSights receives metadata for:
- Message creation
- Message updates
- Comments added to messages
Basecamp provides the message subject, project context, and timestamps. Message bodies and comment text are not included in Basecamp's webhook payloads.
How Messages Appear in WorkSights
WorkSights displays message activity using the Basecamp object path:
Project → Message Board → Message Subject
A created message appears as a Message Created event.
Updating a message subject appears as a Message Updated event.
Comments appear as separate entries referencing the message they relate to.
Messages use WorkSights's communication-style colored activity icon for clear visual recognition.
Data Details
Basecamp transmits message metadata but not message bodies or comment text.
WorkSights reflects only events that occur after the integration is connected.
Activity appears for mapped Basecamp users based on Basecamp's webhook delivery.
