Toggl Track Integration Overview
The Toggl Track integration brings time entry data into WorkSights as Time Log activities, giving leaders visibility into how team members are spending their hours across clients and projects.
For agencies using Toggl Track alongside their project management tools, this means time data flows into the same timeline as delivery work, communication, and client activity. The hours your team already logs appear automatically in WorkSights, giving you the full picture without asking anyone to open a second tool.
For connection steps, see Toggl Track Setup.
What WorkSights Receives
Time entries
Each logged time entry appears as a Time Log activity. The activity title follows the Toggl Track hierarchy: Client → Project → Task → Description → Time Log. Duration is displayed in minutes, and the billable flag on each entry is captured alongside it.
Only activity logged after the integration is connected will appear in WorkSights. Deleted time entries are not removed from WorkSights. If an entry is deleted in Toggl, the corresponding activity remains.
Tags
Tags added to a time entry in Toggl appear in the activity detail field in WorkSights.

Users
WorkSights imports Toggl Track team members and matches them to WorkSights users by email address. Users whose emails do not match require manual mapping from the Users tab.
WorkSights does not ingest deleted entries or entries from workspaces that are not connected.
How Toggl Activity Appears
Toggl Track time entries appear on the activity timeline as Time Log activities. Each entry shows the start and end time, duration in minutes, and the full title hierarchy.

Time Log is a passive activity type. Toggl Track entries are displayable by default and not scored, which means they appear in the timeline and activity stream but do not contribute to performance calculations. Scorable can be toggled manually per entry if needed.
About Timestamps
Toggl Track provides accurate start and end times on every entry. Times shown in WorkSights reflect exactly when the work was tracked in Toggl, with no approximation or inference needed.
Workspace Scoping
Toggl Track organizes time data by workspace. Each WorkSights connection covers one Toggl workspace. If your team uses more than one Toggl workspace, each requires its own connection using the same API token with a different workspace selected each time.
Only entries from connected workspaces will appear in WorkSights.
Integration Page Overview
The Toggl Track integration page contains three tabs:
- Overview: connection status and integration owner
- Users: Toggl Track team members mapped to WorkSights users
- Connections: connected Toggl workspaces
Data Access and Privacy
WorkSights accesses Toggl Track through the API token provided during setup. The integration is read-only.
WorkSights receives:
- Time entry duration, date, and billable flag
- Client, project, and description used to build the activity title
- Tags from the time entry
WorkSights does not receive:
- Deleted time entries
- Entries from unconnected workspaces
- Any content beyond time tracking metadata
Troubleshooting
If Toggl Track activity is not appearing:
- Confirm the affected user is mapped in the Users tab. WorkSights matches by email. If the email in Toggl differs from the email in WorkSights, the user will not be mapped automatically and will need to be matched manually.
- Check whether a timer is still running in Toggl. Active timers are skipped and picked up automatically once stopped.
- Confirm the correct workspace is connected. Entries from workspaces that are not connected will not appear.
If activity stopped appearing after reconnecting:
- This may be caused by a stale webhook subscription. Contact support and we will resolve it.
If a deleted Toggl entry is still showing:
- This is expected. WorkSights does not sync deletions from Toggl Track. The activity will remain but will not affect scoring.
